Collared Peccary hog (Javelina)

It is frequently found in the vast region of the entire State. Mature collared peccaries can weight up to 66 pounds.
Its body is primarily dark with grayish to blackish tones, however both males and females have a white-yellowish collar around the neck and back.
These rare mammal posses a gland on its back that secretes an oiled-substance that help them identify the hogs from the same group.
Hogs are seen in groups that vary from 5 to 20 individuals. They can live up to 15 years and feed from roots, fruits and tubers
